Role and Responsibilities

As our valued Inventory and Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for:

The Inventory and Purchasing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of Easyquip’s procurement and inventory management processes. This position involves implementing and documenting best practices in purchasing and inventory control to meet specified material requirements, delivery timelines, and budget constraints.

The successful candidate will manage national raw stock inventories across all Australian branches and foster strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and stakeholders.

  • Implement and document best practice purchasing and inventory control procedures.
  • Maintain inventory systems and database across the company
  • Research and identify prospective raw materials suppliers.
  • Foster new and maintain existing vendor, supplier, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Request quotes, negotiate purchasing agreements, and prepare purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with internal drafting and scheduling departments to forecast raw materials requirements.
  • Analyze industry demand trends and implement proactive sourcing and warehousing strategies.
  • Manage national raw stock inventories (all Australian branches) and handle goods receipting duties.
  • Implement and maintain rolling stock take to prevent materials shortages and track consumption data.
  • Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased materials and resolve disputes with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate pricing records and supplier information.
  • Understand and interpret Bill of Materials and manufacturing schedules.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems for inventory and procurement management.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in inventory and purchasing in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong understanding of Bill of Materials and manufacturing schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to foster a team environment and uphold a culture of safety, honesty, support, and innovation.
